Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Design: Spearhead the design and development of complex mechanical components and systems using industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo).
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and iterate designs based on performance data and user feedback.
- Simulation & Analysis: Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to predict product behavior under stress and optimize for efficiency.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including 2D drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design specifications compliant with GD&T standards.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs meet regulatory standards, safety requirements, and environmental guidelines.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and provide technical mentorship to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Software Proficiency: Expert level proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools; experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, or MATLAB is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T, thermodynamics, kinematics, and material science.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex engineering problems and innovate solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional, agile teams.
