Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects for aerospace components using CAD/CAM tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling for structural optimization
- Develop detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and test protocols
- Collaborate with R&D teams to prototype and validate new propulsion technologies
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA aerospace industry standards
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing techniques for performance enhancement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-tech mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and material science
- Certification in AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems
- Demonstrated experience with GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
- Proven project management skills for cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to obtain ITAR clearance (US citizenship required)
