Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of complex mechanical systems for aerospace propulsion components
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations and structural analysis using ANSYS and SolidWorks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into actionable engineering solutions
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical assemblies in laboratory environments
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to ensure quality compliance
- Develop technical documentation including CAD models, BOMs, and test reports
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and cost optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/defense industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
- Proven track record of leading complex mechanical projects from concept to production
- PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
