Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation through prototyping and production
- Develop and optimize complex mechanical systems using CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS)
- Collaborate with aerospace engineers to integrate propulsion, control, and structural systems
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for high-stress environments
- Drive DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) initiatives for cost-effective production
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining compliance with AS9100 and ISO standards
- Present technical findings to stakeholders and industry partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation software (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Deep understanding of materials science (composites, alloys, polymers)
- Proven track record in developing propulsion or structural systems
- Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining)
- Strong project management skills using Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
