Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for automotive and industrial components
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate product performance under extreme conditions
- Optimize manufacturing processes through DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles and lean methodologies
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and ASME standards
- Develop patentable solutions for complex mechanical systems with 15%+ efficiency improvements
- Interface with suppliers to source cost-effective materials and components
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs and assembly drawings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of hands-on design experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Proven track record in developing automotive or heavy machinery components
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, material science, and failure analysis methodologies
- PMP or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional engineering projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with root cause analysis capabilities
- Valid US driver's license for occasional site visits
