Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process for new product development, including concept generation, detailed drafting, and final documentation.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create complex 3D models and 2D technical drawings.
- Perform rigorous stress analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure product durability and reliability under load.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize designs for cost-effective production, assembly, and quality control.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of prototypes to validate performance against engineering specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to recommend innovative engineering solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Experience with prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining) and materials selection (metals, composites, plastics).
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional Agile environment and manage project timelines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
