Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our elite product development team. At Nexus Precision Engineering, we don't just build components; we engineer the future of industrial automation. If you have a passion for precision, a deep understanding of mechanical systems, and a desire to push the boundaries of what is possible, this is your opportunity to lead high-impact projects.
In this role, you will spearhead the mechanical design process, bridging the gap between complex engineering concepts and scalable manufacturing solutions. You will work in a cutting-edge environment where your expertise directly influences product performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design Initiatives: Own the mechanical design of complex systems, from initial concept sketches to detailed production drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
- Simulation & Analysis: Perform rigorous Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis to validate designs under various load conditions and ensure structural integrity.
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes, coordinate with fabrication partners, and lead testing protocols to iterate and refine designs based on real-world performance data.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards (GD&T, ISO, ASTM) and regulatory requirements.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and provide technical mentorship to foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or a related engineering role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or Autodesk Inventor) and 2D drafting tools. Strong knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
- Analysis Tools: Experience with simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar) and FEA is highly preferred.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Style: Self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
