Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept to production for aerospace components
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations using ANSYS and SolidWorks
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software solutions
- Conduct prototype testing and validation in controlled laboratory environments
- Mentor junior engineers and implement continuous improvement processes
- Ensure designs meet weight, cost, and regulatory compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Demonstrated experience with composite materials and lightweight structures
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, injection molding, 3D printing)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems on schedule
