Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design lifecycle for high-precision robotic systems from conceptualization to mass production.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo) to develop complex 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to validate structural integrity, thermal performance, and vibration resistance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage vendor relationships for prototype fabrication and component sourcing.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior design engineers and contribute to peer design reviews.
- Ensure all designs meet industry safety standards and compliance requirements (ANSI/ISO).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, specifically in robotics or automated machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD design software (SolidWorks preferred) and PDM systems.
- Strong background in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proven experience with FEA tools (ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation).
- Experience with material selection, heat treatment, and precision manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative design environment.
