Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle for automotive components using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Develop and validate innovative solutions for powertrain, suspension, and lightweighting systems
- Conduct FEA/CFD analysis to optimize performance, durability, and thermal management
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure DFM/DFA principles are implemented
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Prepare technical documentation including CAD drawings, BOMs, and test protocols
- Present design concepts to stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of automotive experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA with complex assembly modeling
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes
- Proven experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal management systems
- Familiarity with automotive standards (SAE J1930, ISO 26262) and safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills with systematic root cause analysis
- Strong project management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
