Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for rocket engine components using CAD/CAM tools
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop comprehensive test plans and oversee prototype validation in lab environments
- Optimize designs for manufacturability using DFM principles
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Interface with suppliers to source specialized aerospace materials
- Prepare technical documentation and patent disclosures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical systems
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS Suite
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies
- ASME certification or equivalent professional credentials
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical projects
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
