Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace propulsion components using CAD/CAE tools
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis for structural integrity and thermal optimization
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with materials science team for composite and alloy selection
- Conduct prototype testing and validation in lab environments
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Support production ramp-up with DFM analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience in aerospace or high-tech
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS Suite
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience with additive manufacturing for metal components
- Proven track record of leading complex projects from concept to production
- Active PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Knowledge of propulsion systems highly desirable
