Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design from concept validation to production release using SolidWorks and PTC Creo
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to optimize structural integrity and thermal performance in aerospace components
- Develop and validate test protocols for qualification of mechanical systems under extreme conditions
- Interface with suppliers to ensure manufacturing feasibility and cost-effective solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA certification requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-reliability industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/Creo) and simulation software (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Demonstrated experience with composite material design and manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA methodologies
- Proven track record of delivering certified hardware projects on schedule and within budget
- Active PE license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
