Apex Robotics is seeking a high-caliber Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the conceptualization and development of next-generation robotic systems. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering theory and scalable real-world applications in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This role offers the opportunity to drive technical strategy, mentor junior staff, and see your designs evolve from CAD models to high-precision deployed machinery.
Responsibilities
- Design and iterate complex mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and PDM systems.
- Conduct rigorous FEA and thermal analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronics and software into hardware designs.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from initial conceptualization to manufacturing and assembly.
- Perform Tolerance Analysis (GD&T) to ensure seamless manufacturing alignment.
- Oversee rapid prototyping efforts, including 3D printing and CNC machining workflows.
- Document technical specifications and maintain rigorous engineering change control (ECO).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in product design, preferably in robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Demonstrated expertise in FEA software (ANSYS or similar).
- Experience with motion control systems and servo-driven hardware.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a rapid development environment.
