Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to optimize structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop comprehensive BOMs and technical documentation for FAA-compliant components
- Collaborate with aerospace engineers to integrate mechanical systems into larger platforms
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for quality assurance
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing techniques for weight reduction
- Interface with suppliers to source specialized aerospace components
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years aerospace experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, and GD&T standards
- Proven experience with FAA/EASA certification documentation
- Strong understanding of composite materials and additive manufacturing
- Project management experience with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems
- Active PE license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
