Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, including actuators, conveyors, and robotic interfaces.
- Perform advanced stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and thermal simulations using ANSYS or Abaqus.
- Create high-fidelity 3D CAD models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Oversee the prototyping phase, including material selection, vendor sourcing, and rapid prototyping.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation experiments to ensure product reliability and safety compliance.
- Work closely with the manufacturing floor to resolve design-for-manufacturing (DFM) issues and optimize production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (PE license preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design within the manufacturing or automation industry.
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor with a strong command of GD&T standards.
- Experience with FEA tools and simulation software (ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder presentations.
