Responsibilities
- Design and iterate complex mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and FEA analysis.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews to ensure mechanical, electrical, and software systems integration.
- Perform structural and thermal simulations to validate design robustness before prototyping.
- Manage the selection of materials, fasteners, and vendors to ensure cost-efficiency and supply chain reliability.
- Oversee rapid prototyping processes and coordinate with manufacturing teams for transition to production.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in mechanical design and GD&T implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 7+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or industrial automation.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX).
- Demonstrated expertise in GD&T and mechanical tolerancing standards.
- Strong background in material science, motion control, and high-precision gearbox integration.
- Proven track record of taking complex products from concept through full-scale production.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
