Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept to prototyping for aerospace systems
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations and stress analysis using ANSYS/Abaqus
- Develop detailed technical documentation including CAD drawings, BOMs, and DFM reports
- Collaborate with R&D team to test and validate prototypes in simulated environments
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for quality assurance
- Optimize designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency, and manufacturability
- Research and implement emerging materials and additive manufacturing techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of aerospace/defense experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks/CATIA with complex assembly modeling
- Proven experience with FEA/CFD tools and structural analysis methodologies
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ASME standards, and aerospace regulations
- Experience with composite materials and metal fabrication processes
- Project management skills with track record of delivering on time/budget
- PE license preferred; Six Sigma certification a plus
- Exceptional problem-solving and technical communication abilities
