Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Develop and validate system-level specifications for aerospace components
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations for structural and thermal analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems
- Create detailed technical documentation and manufacturing drawings
- Mentor junior engineers and design review processes
- Stay current with industry standards (ASME, MIL-SPEC)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/automotive
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Certification in ASME Y14.5 GD&T preferred
- Experience with CAD/CAM integration and rapid prototyping
- Demonstrated project leadership with complex assemblies
- Ability to obtain DoD clearance if required
