Responsibilities
- Transportation Analysis & Optimization: Conduct in-depth analysis of transportation data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for route optimization and cost reduction.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and negotiate contracts with 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure competitive pricing and high service levels.
- Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain KPI dashboards (On-Time Performance, Cost per Unit, Claim Rates) to track supply chain health and present insights to stakeholders.
- Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives within the logistics budget and monitor variance analysis to ensure financial targets are met.
- Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional projects to streamline shipping processes, reduce paperwork, and improve inventory turnover.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations (FMCSA, DOT, etc.).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or transportation management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management or Manhattan Associates; strong command of SQL and advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex logistical issues and develop effective, scalable solutions.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of freight forwarding, customs regulations, and distribution center operations.
