Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with key carrier partners, negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor real-time shipment tracking and mitigate delays through proactive problem-solving.
- Analyze operational KPIs to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process optimization.
- Lead and mentor a team of dispatchers and logistics coordinators to ensure high-performance standards.
- Oversee regulatory compliance including DOT, FMCSA, and hazardous materials protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align logistics capabilities with client requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation operations or freight forwarding leadership.
- Deep understanding of multi-modal transportation (TL, LTL, Intermodal, and Ocean).
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder).
- Proven track record of managing high-volume supply chain operations and budget P&L.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on vendor relationship management.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
