Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations, ensuring seamless coordination between carriers, drivers, and warehouse facilities.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to reduce operational costs and improve transit time performance.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of dispatchers, logistics coordinators, and analysts to achieve operational KPIs.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate freight contracts to ensure competitive market pricing.
- Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company environmental sustainability standards.
- Monitor real-time shipment tracking, proactively resolving bottlenecks to maintain high service levels.
- Utilize advanced TMS (Transportation Management Systems) to generate performance reports for executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in the transportation or freight brokerage industry.
- Expert-level knowledge of transportation laws, FMCSA regulations, and domestic supply chain logistics.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale fleets or third-party carrier networks.
- Advanced proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and data analytics platforms like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under high-pressure scenarios.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience managing and developing cross-functional teams.
