Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies to optimize freight movement and reduce overhead.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of logistics coordinators and dispatchers.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with global carrier partners and vendors.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective operational improvements.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, ensuring all transportation activities adhere to federal and state safety standards.
- Drive the integration of new TMS (Transportation Management Systems) platforms to enhance real-time tracking capabilities.
- Manage annual logistics budgets with a focus on cost-efficiency and scalable growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in the transportation or freight forwarding industry.
- Expertise in domestic and international multi-modal transportation logistics.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale operational budgets and cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and industry compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and data analytics tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL).
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
