Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily logistics operations, including freight scheduling, routing, and carrier selection to ensure timely delivery.
- Process Optimization: Analyze current workflows and implement Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs and increase throughput.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a diverse team of logistics coordinators and dispatchers, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight brokers.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and logistics software (Manhattan, JDA).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex logistics challenges.
