Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day transportation operations to ensure on-time delivery and strict service-level compliance.
- Optimize routing and carrier utilization to reduce operational costs by at least 15% annually.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of dispatchers and warehouse supervisors.
- Oversee compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and environmental protocols.
- Manage relationships with key external carrier partners and freight brokers.
- Utilize advanced data analytics to forecast demand and adjust fleet capacity accordingly.
- Implement lean methodology across all logistics workstreams to eliminate bottlenecks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in high-volume transportation or freight management.
- Expertise in TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and ERP software solutions.
- Deep understanding of multi-modal shipping, including FTL, LTL, and intermodal transport.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts and drive supplier performance.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of managing teams larger than 20 people.
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools.
