Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations, ensuring on-time delivery and strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of dispatchers, warehouse staff, and logistics coordinators.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven process improvements.
- Negotiate contracts with third-party carriers and optimize route planning to reduce fuel consumption and operational costs.
- Ensure full compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and internal safety standards.
- Develop and manage the annual operational budget, focusing on cost-containment and resource efficiency.
- Collaborate with the IT department to integrate new TMS (Transportation Management Systems) software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in transportation, freight, or logistics management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale fleets and complex distribution networks.
- Advanced proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in talent development and team building.
- Deep understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and regional transportation regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
