Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies to optimize service levels and minimize operational costs.
- Manage relationships with third-party carriers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and contract agreements.
- Utilize advanced TMS platforms to monitor real-time shipment performance and resolve supply chain bottlenecks.
- Lead a team of dispatchers and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and high performance.
- Analyze supply chain metrics to generate actionable insights and quarterly performance reports for stakeholders.
- Implement lean logistics methodologies to reduce waste and improve delivery lead times.
- Ensure full compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and FMCSA regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or transportation management within a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Proven expertise in managing multi-modal freight (TL, LTL, Intermodal) and brokerage operations.
- Strong technical proficiency with TMS software (e.g., MercuryGate, Oracle, or JDA) and ERP systems.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and create actionable reports.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of building successful carrier relationships.
- Current knowledge of federal and state transportation safety regulations.
