Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Rotterdam distribution hub, ensuring timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to optimize route efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and key stakeholders to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of logistics coordinators and junior staff.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs documentation, and safety standards.
- Prepare monthly operational reports and present performance metrics to senior management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding.
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and large-scale operations.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and Incoterms.
- Fluency in English and Dutch (proficiency in German is a strong asset).
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or APICS certification preferred.
