Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including freight brokerage, warehousing, and last-mile delivery
- Develop and implement strategic transportation optimization plans reducing costs by 15-20%
- Lead cross-functional teams of 15+ logistics specialists and analysts
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with 3PL providers and carriers
- Implement IoT and AI-driven logistics tracking systems for real-time visibility
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and international transport regulations
- Drive sustainability initiatives reducing carbon footprint by 25% within 18 months
- Present performance metrics and improvement strategies to executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years progressive experience in transportation/logistics with 3+ years in management
- Proven expertise in multi-modal transportation (rail, air, ocean, truckload)
- Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or APICS CSCP designation required
- Advanced proficiency in TMS platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder) and data analytics
- Strong negotiation skills with $5M+ annual vendor contract experience
- Track record of leading successful logistics transformation projects
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with experience in crisis management
