Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the regional transportation fleet, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Analyze shipping data and logistics metrics to identify areas for operational improvement and cost reduction.
- Negotiate contracts with third-party carriers and vendors to secure the best rates and service levels.
- Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety protocols.
- Lead a team of logistics coordinators and dispatchers, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
- Develop and implement route optimization strategies to minimize fuel consumption and transit times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in transportation management or supply chain logistics.
- Proven track record of managing fleet operations and vendor relationships in a high-volume setting.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, freight forwarding processes, and logistics software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and advanced data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
