Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end logistics operations including freight forwarding, warehousing, and last-mile delivery
- Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to optimize cost-efficiency and service levels
- Manage relationships with key transportation partners and negotiate favorable contracts
- Analyze supply chain data to identify improvement opportunities and KPI enhancements
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing logistics projects and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and industry safety standards
- Collaborate with sales to design custom transportation solutions for major clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years progressive experience in transportation/logistics management
- Proven expertise in TMS implementation and supply chain analytics tools
- Strong negotiation skills with carrier relationships and contract management
- Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or CPIM designation required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics software (SAP, Oracle)
- Experience leading teams of 5+ professionals in unionized environments
- Demonstrated ability to reduce transportation costs by 15%+ in previous roles
