What You Will Do:
Responsibilities
- Route Optimization: Develop and implement efficient transportation routes to minimize transit times and reduce fuel consumption while adhering to strict delivery schedules.
- Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers, negotiating rates and monitoring service performance metrics.
- Cost Control: Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing and load consolidation strategies.
- Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with warehouse teams to synchronize inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring inventory accuracy and reducing stockouts.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate detailed logistics reports (KPIs, dashboards) for senior leadership, providing actionable insights into supply chain performance.
- Crisis Management: Resolve shipping disruptions and logistical emergencies with agility and composure, maintaining client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or freight forwarding.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and transportation management software (TMS) is highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets, create spreadsheets, and forecast logistics trends.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of negotiating with vendors and reporting to stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Incoterms, customs regulations, and international shipping compliance standards.
