Responsibilities
- Oversee daily freight routing, dispatching, and tracking to ensure on-time delivery across domestic and international lanes.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements that reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics documentation using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive updates and resolving any transit discrepancies.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT and customs requirements.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and drivers to coordinate safe and efficient loading and unloading operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4+ years of proven experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or dispatch.
- Deep understanding of transportation regulations, customs clearance, and international shipping terms (Incoterms).
- Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work on-site in our Chicago headquarters.
