Responsibilities
- Orchestrate Supply Chain Operations: Manage the end-to-end logistics process, including inbound receiving, warehousing, and outbound distribution to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
- Optimize Transportation: Analyze shipping costs, carrier performance, and route data to implement cost-saving strategies and improve delivery times.
- Carrier Relationship Management: Negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight forwarders to secure the best rates and service levels.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with the procurement team to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all logistics activities adhere to local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Data Analysis: Generate and interpret logistics reports to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Crisis Management: Troubleshoot shipping delays and logistical disruptions, implementing contingency plans to minimize impact on clients.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into actionable business strategies.
- Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with vendors, clients, and internal departments.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and vendor meetings.
