Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations, including freight forwarding, inventory management, and distribution logistics.
- Analyze shipping data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize carrier routes for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and internal departments to resolve delivery issues and ensure on-time performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery receipts.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve turnaround times and reduce operational costs.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure Apex remains compliant with all transportation laws.
- Lead and mentor junior logistics staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan Associates) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and clients.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits as required.
- Certification (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP) is highly preferred.
