Responsibilities
- Drafting & Reviewing: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, partnership deals, and NDAs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with UK data protection laws (GDPR), FCA regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks across all business operations, providing proactive solutions to management.
- IP & Litigation: Oversee intellectual property management and act as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel during litigation or disputes.
- Corporate Governance: Assist in board meetings, prepare board papers, and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
- Training: Deliver regular legal training sessions to staff on data privacy, contracts, and employment law.
Qualifications
- Education: Qualified Solicitor (QLE) with a minimum of 5-7 years post-qualification experience.
- Specialization: Strong background in commercial law, IT law, and corporate governance.
- Skills: Excellent drafting skills with a keen eye for detail and commercial awareness.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of UK data privacy laws and financial services regulations.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently and manage a diverse legal workload with tight deadlines.
