Responsibilities
- Commercial Contracting: Lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), software licenses, and vendor contracts.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure strict adherence to SEC, FINRA, and state-level financial regulations to protect the company’s reputation and license.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level counsel on corporate governance, data privacy (CCPA/GDPR), and intellectual property protection.
- Litigation Management: Manage external counsel and oversee the resolution of disputes, regulatory investigations, and litigation matters.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement internal legal policies and risk management frameworks to mitigate operational and legal risks.
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
- Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of post-graduation legal experience, with a specific focus on corporate law, securities, and FinTech.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of financial technology regulations and data privacy laws.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
