Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Direct the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure) for large-scale federal IT deployments.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all project deliverables adhere to federal security standards, procurement regulations, and agency policies.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior executives and congressional liaisons, providing clear, concise status reports and risk assessments.
- Resource Allocation: Manage cross-functional teams including developers, security analysts, and business analysts to optimize productivity.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project blockers and implement mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Vendor Management: Lead the selection, negotiation, and performance management of external IT vendors and contractors.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or Prince2 (PRINCE2 Practitioner) certification is mandatory. Security+ or CISSP preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of managing projects in the Government/Public Sector or Defense sector.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical data for non-technical stakeholders.
