Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from conception to publication
- Develop and maintain confidential sources across diverse communities
- Produce multimedia content including long-form articles, podcasts, and data visualizations
- Collaborate with editors to ensure factual accuracy and ethical compliance
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy
- Engage with audiences via social media and community events
- Adhere to AP Style Guide and journalistic ethics standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional journalism experience
- Proven track record of investigative reporting with measurable impact
- Expertise in FOIA requests, public records analysis, and undercover techniques
- Strong portfolio demonstrating narrative depth and multimedia storytelling
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools and SEO optimization
- BA in Journalism, Communications, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Portfolio demonstrating commitment to ethical journalism
