Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigations from tip to publication, managing all research, interviews, and evidence verification
- Develop original story ideas that align with GNN's editorial mission and audience interests
- Produce in-depth written articles, video documentaries, and podcast episodes
- Mentor junior journalists through story development and ethical reporting practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data analysts, graphic designers, and broadcast producers
- Build and maintain confidential sources across government, corporate, and NGO sectors
- Adhere to strict journalistic ethics while meeting aggressive publication deadlines
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of professional journalism experience with proven investigative portfolio
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across multiple formats (print, video, audio)
- Expertise in public records research, FOIA requests, and data analysis techniques
- Strong understanding of media law, ethics, and First Amendment principles
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet editorial standards
- Experience working in deadline-driven newsroom environments
- Portfolio featuring at least three major investigative projects
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
