Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from conception to publication, ensuring factual accuracy and ethical standards
- Develop and maintain deep source networks across government, industry, and community sectors
- Produce high-impact multimedia content including long-form articles, documentaries, and podcasts
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy development
- Collaborate with digital teams to optimize content distribution across platforms
- Represent Metro Chronicle at industry events and conferences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of professional investigative journalism experience
- Proven track record of breaking significant stories with measurable impact
- Expertise in FOIA requests, data journalism, and advanced research techniques
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities across multiple formats
- Proficiency with CMS platforms, video editing software, and analytics tools
- Portfolio demonstrating compelling investigative work and multimedia projects
