Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in the UK and Europe.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft complex legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and legal opinions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication regarding case status and deadlines.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient retrieval of information.
- Assist partners in trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization.
- Monitor changes in legislation and provide updates to the legal team.
Qualifications
- Qualified Paralegal qualification (e.g., ILEX/CILEx Level 6) or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically within Intellectual Property law.
- Strong understanding of UK patent and trademark law, including UKIPO procedures.
- Excellent drafting and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in legal practice management software (e.g., Clio, Practice Management System).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
