Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial and personal insurance applications using risk assessment methodologies
- Develop tailored insurance policies that balance client needs with company risk tolerance
- Analyze financial data, industry trends, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to optimize coverage structures
- Monitor portfolio performance and adjust risk strategies as market conditions evolve
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of property/casualty underwriting experience with proven track record
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) preferred
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations and industry best practices
- Exceptional communication skills for client negotiations and team collaboration
- Strong decision-making abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
