Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications using advanced risk assessment methodologies
- Develop pricing strategies and policy terms for mid-to-large enterprise clients
- Collaborate with actuaries and brokers to optimize risk mitigation approaches
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance underwriting automation tools
- Maintain compliance with NY State insurance regulations and industry standards
- Mentor junior underwriters through structured training programs
- Identify emerging market trends to inform portfolio diversification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
- CPCU or AU designation strongly preferred
- Expertise in property/casualty and professional liability lines
- Advanced proficiency in insurance management software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making abilities
- Excellent negotiation skills and client relationship management experience
- Valid New York State Insurance License
