Responsibilities
- Assess commercial insurance applications using quantitative/qualitative risk analysis techniques
- Develop tailored insurance solutions for mid-market enterprises across diverse industries
- Lead underwriting committees and mentor junior team members
- Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to optimize portfolio performance
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to resolve complex coverage issues
- Implement underwriting automation initiatives to enhance efficiency
- Monitor loss ratios and adjust risk parameters as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years commercial underwriting experience with P&C/Lines expertise
- CPCU or AU designation strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
- Knowledge of Illinois insurance regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven track record of profitable portfolio management
