Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications and assess risk exposure using advanced data analytics
- Develop and execute underwriting strategies for mid-to-large enterprise accounts with premiums exceeding $500K
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative insurance products addressing emerging risks
- Lead negotiations with brokers and clients to structure optimal coverage terms and pricing
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards while optimizing profitability across assigned portfolios
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting frameworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA/CPCU designation preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty focus
- Advanced proficiency in insurance analytics platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Proven track record in managing enterprise-level accounts ($1M+ premium volume)
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations and industry best practices
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to balance client needs with business objectives
