Responsibilities
- Underwrite commercial and personal insurance policies with meticulous attention to risk assessment and compliance
- Develop strategic risk mitigation strategies for high-value clients and complex portfolios
- Leverage actuarial data and market trends to optimize pricing structures and policy terms
- Collaborate with brokers, adjusters, and legal teams to resolve claims and policy discrepancies
- Maintain regulatory compliance across all state and federal insurance regulations
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive underwriting experience with proven portfolio management success
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in insurance software (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) and data analytics tools
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Deep understanding of NY insurance regulations and industry best practices
