Responsibilities
- Assess commercial and personal insurance risks using advanced analytics and market trends
- Develop customized insurance policies aligning with client needs and regulatory requirements
- Lead underwriting teams in high-value claim evaluations and risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with brokers to optimize coverage solutions and market competitiveness
- Monitor industry regulations and emerging risks to ensure compliance and innovation
- Maintain underwriting authority limits while balancing risk appetite and profitability
- Train junior underwriters on best practices and proprietary risk assessment tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial/personal lines underwriting experience with P&C licenses
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Expert knowledge of insurance regulations (NY DFS, NAIC) and compliance frameworks
- Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience in risk modeling and financial forecasting
- Strong negotiation abilities and stakeholder management across diverse portfolios
