Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems 24/7 to detect and respond to potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect classified and unclassified data.
- Manage and lead incident response plans, coordinating with internal teams and external law enforcement as necessary.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP standards.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training to staff to foster a culture of security.
- Perform regular audits of network infrastructure and software applications to identify weaknesses.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design secure architectures for new systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in information security, preferably within the government or defense sector.
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph examination.
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, or GCIH is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of network security protocols, encryption standards, and threat intelligence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to executive stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
