Responsibilities
- Lead R&D Initiatives: Spearhead the development of new food products from concept and formulation through to commercialization and scale-up.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products comply with strict FDA regulations, HACCP plans, and internal quality standards.
- Sensory Evaluation: Conduct rigorous sensory analysis and shelf-life studies to optimize product stability and consumer appeal.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with production teams to refine manufacturing processes, improving efficiency and reducing waste.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving food safety laws and ingredient regulations, updating documentation accordingly.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior technologists and cross-functional teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in food research and development within the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of food chemistry, rheology, and ingredient functionality.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proven experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA compliance documentation.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
